Looking for something festive to do in Seattle the day after Thanksgiving?
You don’t want to miss the downtown Seattle tree lighting celebration on Friday, November 29. There will be live music, giveaways, fireworks, and more fun at this free holiday event that we look forward to all year.
Read on for all the details about this year’s Seattle tree lighting ceremony!
Seattleites look forward to this free holiday event in Westlake Park every year. It begins earlier this year at noon with craft activities, giveaways, and costumed characters.
Then the countdown to the lighting ceremony starts just before 5:00 p.m. Not only will the huge downtown Seattle Christmas tree and the iconic Macy’s star both get lit up, but there will also be an epic fireworks show.
Between the free activities, the fireworks, and the festive cheer (plus the fact that it’s free!) we can’t think of a better way to welcome the holiday season in Seattle.
Bonus event: If you can’t make it on Friday—or you just want to double up on your holiday lights events—you can enjoy a similar event in downtown Seattle the following day. On Saturday, November 30 Pike Place Market is hosting their annual Magic in the Market event from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be a lighting ceremony in addition to free photos with Santa, kids activities, and more fun. Read more about Magic in the Market before you go.
