Magic in the Market is a Seattle winter tradition that has been around for almost 30 years now. It allows Seattleites to get a head start on their holiday shopping at the many local businesses located at Pike Place Market, all while we enjoy festive treats and activities. The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and wraps up after the Market lighting ceremony ends at 6:00 p.m.
There will be activities to choose from, including a special hands-on sewing workshop where you can create your very own “Little Pike the Polar Bear” ornament, live performances to watch, and a contest with prizes. Of course, there will also be plenty of shopping opportunities as well as seasonal food and beverage offerings all day.
Make sure to bring the kiddos in your life as well! Magic in the Market will have kid-centered activities all day, including a free holiday cookie decorating experience. Best of all, Santa will be at the market for free photos from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Finally, at 5:00 p.m. you’ll be able to watch as cabaret dancers perform a musical number, Santa does a countdown, and Pike Place Market gets lit up for the holiday season. It’s truly a magical sight to behold.
