Looking for Seattle Halloween events for kids?
There is actually a scary amount of kid-friendly Halloween things to do in Seattle this October. Some of the activities on this list may be more suitable for older kids; we included specific age recommendations whenever possible. Also, many of these events are free! Read on for all the spooky and (not-too-spooky) family-friendly Halloween events in Seattle in 2024!
1. Camp Long Trail or Treat
When: Saturday, October 26 from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Camp Long in West Seattle
Cost: Free!
All ages are welcome to trick or treat along the illuminated pathways of Camp Long. There will also be storytelling, a spooky scavenger hunt, art activities, and more. This event is rain or shine.
2. Seattle Chocolate Haunted Factory Experience
When: October 17 to 27, 2024
Where: Seattle Chocolate in Tukwila
Cost: $20 for adults, $15 for kids
If your kiddo wants to do a haunted house type of activity but isn’t quite old enough for some of Seattle’s scariest haunted experiences, take them to the Seattle Chocolate Haunted Factory Experience. There’s more treats than tricks, and it’s recommended for ages 8 and up.
3. Día de Muertos at Seattle Art Museum
When: November 1, 2024
Where: Seattle Art Museum
Cost: Free!
Teach your little ones about the traditions of Día de los Muertos at this community celebration that will have live music, dancing, and more. There is no age recommendation mentioned, other than that there will be “art-making activities suitable for all ages,” but keep in mind the event is in the evening from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. This event is free but it’s first-come, first-served so be sure to RSVP on the Seattle Art Museum website.
4. Halloween at the Aquarium
When: October 26-27, 2024
Where: Seattle Aquarium
Cost: Included with aquarium admission
The Seattle Aquarium is encouraging families to come in costume for some tricks and treats from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the weekend before Halloween. Activities at Piers 59 and 60 include underwater pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, and more. It’s all included with your aquarium admission, and remember that kids age 3 and under are admitted for free.
5. Pumpkin Bash at Woodland Park Zoo
When: October 26-27, 2024
Where: Woodland Park Zoo
Cost: Included with zoo admission
The Seattle zoo has lots of family-friendly fun planned for the weekend before Halloween. Some of the activities that weekend include trick-or-treating and a costume parade. Plus you get to watch the zoo animals have their own fun bashing pumpkins. It’s all included in your zoo admission. See the schedule on the zoo website.
6. A “Fresh Air Halloween” costumed bike ride
When: October 31, 2024
Where: Westlake Park to Fritz Hedges Park
Cost: Free ($10 for the seafood boil portion)
The whole family will have a good time at this free Halloween bike ride. Wear your best costume for the contest and bring $10 if you’d like to participate in the seafood boil afterwards. See all the event details here.
7. Trick or treating in Capitol Hill
When: October 31
Where: Capitol Hill
Cost: Free
Unfortunately there will be no Hilloween event in Seattle’s Capitol Hill this year. Still, the neighborhood is a hot spot for trick or treaters every Halloween, specifically in the zone around 16th and 17th Ave near Volunteer Park. 8. Harvest Fest in West Seattle
When: October 27, 2024
Where: Downtown West Seattle (the Junction)
Cost: Free
If you’re based in West Seattle then you’re probably going to want to take your kiddo to Harvest Fest in the Junction. There will be a costume parade, a marching band, trick or treating, and more!
9. The Museum of Fright
When: October 27
Where: Museum of Flight
Cost: Included with museum admission (free for ages 17 and under wearing a costume)
Seattle’s Museum of Flight transforms into the Museum of FRIGHT for one day this month. All kinds of family-friendly activities will be included in your museum admission for that day such as face painting, a dance party, and spooky activities. Costumes are encouraged!
10. Día de Muertos Festival at Seattle Center
When: October 26-27
Where: Seattle Center
Cost: Free
Celebrate the Day of the Dead with your kids at the annual Día de Muertos Festival Seattle. There will be performances, face painting, and more. This is a free event for all ages at Seattle Center’s Army Food & Event Hall and Fisher Pavilion.
11. Thrill the World
When: October 21, 22, 28, 29, 31
Where: various locations
Cost: Free
Thrill the World is a world-wide performance of the famous “Thriller” dance. You and your family can go watch Seattleites dressed like zombies perform the dance this October in several Seattle neighborhoods. See all the dates and locations on the Seattle Thrillers website.
12. Trolloween
When: October 31
Where: The Fremont Troll
Cost: Free
The annual Trolloween event is a celebration of the Fremont Troll’s birthday on Halloween. It starts at 7:00 p.m. with live music in front of the Troll, then is followed by the Haunt of Fremont march. This is a nighttime event with lots of loud music and possibly spooky costumes, so only you know best if your kid is up for it.
