As convenient as it can be to do your holiday shopping at home on your computer, there’s something to be said for the festive feeling of strolling through a holiday market, hot chocolate in hand. We’re happy to report that Seattle has no shortage of Christmas markets and holiday craft fairs coming up over the next couple of months. We rounded up some of our favorites, but will be continuously adding more so be sure to take a page out of Santa’s book and check this list twice!
Here are some of the best Seattle markets to shop at this holiday season (in chronological order):
1. Julefest: A Nordic Christmas market
Get into the Christmas spirit the Nordic way at Julefest. This Nordic Christmas market takes place at the National Nordic Museum in Ballard the weekend before Thanksgiving. You’ll be able to buy holiday gifts from local artists in addition to enjoying live entertainment, festive treats, and museum access.
When: November 19 and 20, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

2. Christmastown at Leavenworth
Typically, the Bavarian-style mountain town of Leavenworth has a Christmas market called Christkindlemarkt—but it has been cancelled for 2022. Nevertheless, it’s worth visiting Leavenworth anyway this winter to see their famous Christmas light displays and enjoy other festivities during Christmastown. While you’re there, you can still get plenty of holiday shopping done at one of their many charming shops.

3. Magic in the Market
Pike Place Market is always a great place to shop for unique gifts but you won’t want to miss out on the one-day event that is Magic in the Market. While you explore all the small businesses in the market, you’ll be able to enjoy live performances, photos with Santa, kids activities, and a lighting ceremony.
When: Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

4. GeekCraft Expo Seattle Holiday Market
This curated craft market is the place to be if you need to find a gift for a self-professed geek or nerd in your life. Hangar 30 will be full of geeky goods handmade by local artists and crafters. Get more info and tickets online.

5. Night Market at the West Seattle Hometown Holidays Festival
If you’re looking for a holiday market in West Seattle, you won’t want to miss out on this year’s Hometown Holidays Festival. You can shop the night market from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. and in between there will be live performances, a costume contest, a tree lighting, and a beer and wine garden.

6. Yonder Cider’s Holiday Makers Market
You’ll be able to sip on pints and a special hot cider from the taproom while shopping handmade wares from local businesses.
When: Sunday, December 4, 2022 from noon to 6:00 p.m.

7. Fremont Bridge Winter Market
Technically a winter market rather than a holiday-specific market, the Fremont Bridge Winter Market is nonetheless a festive and fun option for doing your holiday shopping. Rain or shine, you’ll find the market’s many vendors under the Fremont Bridge along with the Fremont Troll, food trucks, and more every Sunday.
When: Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

8. Urban Craft Uprising
This free market is the largest indie craft event not just in Seattle but in the Pacific Northwest! You’ll find a huge variety of carefully curated handmade goods. This market is indoors and opens at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday with free admission; the Friday night opening event is ticketed. Find all the info at the Urban Craft Uprising website.

9. South Lake Union Winter Market
An extension of Urban Craft Uprising, this winter market in SLU is a free event that is entirely outdoors. There will be different sellers each day and the hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
When: December 8 and 9, 2022
Where: Outside the Nitro Building (2250 7th Ave.)
10. Trollstice Holiday Market
At this holiday market underneath the blue and orange Fremont Bridge, you’ll enjoy a dog parade (3:00 to 4:00 p.m.) and a live reindeer photo booth (5:00 to 7:00 p.m.) in addition to the chance to shop a wide variety of local vintage and crafted goods.
When: Saturday, December 10, 2022 from noon to 6:00 p.m.

11. SODO Flea Holiday Market
The SODO Flea Market is known in Seattle and beyond for its extremely well-curated selection of vendors selling vintage and handmade wares. You’ll bound to find a few treasures for your loved ones (and yourself—we won’t tell) at their December holiday market. You’ll also find food and coffee trucks, free off-street parking, and access to more indoor shopping at the adjacent Epic Antique store.

12. Urban Craft Market at Fairview
This weekday market is a small, curated event that is free to attend. There will be around 25 local vendors selling handmade items in addition to raffle prizes and food. You can see the list of vendors on the Urban Craft Uprising website.
When: Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

13. Holiday Night Market at Olmstead
This holiday night market at Olmstead is going to be showcasing local artists, crafters, and small businesses on Thursday, December 15. There will also be festive cocktails and a DJ to get you into the holiday spirit.
When: Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Where: Olmstead in Capitol Hill (314 Broadway E)
14. Punk Rock Flea Market
After a three-year hiatus, the Punk Rock Flea Market returns to Seattle just in time for your holiday shopping. Your $1 admission ticket gets you access to loud music, strong drinks, food vendors, and tons of punk rock goods from vinyl to vintage clothes and handmade art. Here are the daily hours: Thursday and Friday 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday noon to 9:00 p.m.; Sunday noon to 6:00 p.m.

15. Winter Solstice Holiday Night Market & Beerfest
This ticketed holiday night market is for ages 21 and up only. Your ticket (starting at $15) gets you a drink in addition to the opportunity to browse the booths of 100 local vendors. There will also be food trucks and photo ops with bad Santa.
When: December 16 & 17, 2022

16. Casa di LaValle Holiday Market
This adorable Pioneer Square shop is hosting a holiday market featuring handmade wares from local makers and artists in addition to their own curated collection of vintage goods & tabletop decor. Friday’s market is from noon to 5:00 p.m. and the Saturday and Sunday hours are 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is perfect for anyone who feels overwhelmed by the larger holiday markets and would prefer to browse a more minimalist selection.

17. United Indians Native Art Market
Support your local Native American artists and find a unique gift by shopping at this market that will be at Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center for two weekends. You’ll find handmade clothing, jewelry, woodworking, drums, art and more.
When: November 19-20 and December 17-18, 2022

18. Maker Magic Handmade Market
Visit Belltown’s Block 41 for this free, one-day market in December that will have local and handmade goods from over 50 vendors. It’s a great opportunity to find a unique handmade gift while supporting small businesses in the Seattle area. This market is indoors. You can follow along on their Instagram (above) for more.

19. Saison-A-Thon Holiday Vendor Market
This holiday market at Ballard’s Fair Isle Brewing is for ages 21 and up. In addition to all the local vendors selling handmade crafts, food, jewelry, and art, there will be raffles and Outsider BBQ.
When: Sunday, December 18, 2022 starting at noon

20. Santa’s Disco Village Market at Dreamland
This Christmas market at Seattle’s disco diner Dreamland is sure to be a good time. There will be a DJ, small bites, festive cocktails, drag queen photo opps, and of course local vendors for your holiday shopping needs.
When: Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

21. Nordstrom’s Holiday Pop-In
You can stop in at Seattle’s downtown Nordstrom location any day this month to find over 500 curated holiday gifts. You’ll find everything from pet gifts and stocking stuffers to customizable beanies and a coffee-brewing alarm clock.
