But first, a quick fun fact: the country’s first Father’s Day was celebrated in 1910 right here in the state of Washington! Sonora Smart Dodd, who was raised by her single father, successfully established the first Father’s Day in Spokane. Her idea spread across the country, and it became an official national celebration in 1972.
Here are some things you can do with the dads in your life to celebrate Father’s Day in Seattle this weekend:
1. Dad’s Night Out at Columbia Tower Club

4. Enjoy a special Father’s Day meal
These restaurants in and around Seattle are offering special Father’s Day meals:
- BluWater Bistro in Leschi is offering Father’s Day deals on lobster and steak all weekend, from Friday to Sunday.
- El Gaucho is usually closed on Sundays but will be open on June 15 in honor of Father’s Day. This steakhouse has locations in Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma and Vancouver, WA.
- Cedar + Elm, located at The Lodge at St. Edward in Kenmore, is having a Father’s Day Barbecue on Sunday, June 15 from noon to 2:00 p.m. There will be a whiskey flight, local brews, and lawn games.
- Bayernmoor Cellars in Woodinville is having an all-day Father’s Day celebration on Sunday, June 15 at their Woodinville Tasting room. He’ll be able to enjoy local wine paired with light bites.
- STK in Bellevue is offering a Father’s Day is offering a Surf and Turf Special, Wagyu Sampler, special weekend brunch, and a special Happy Hour. It’s all available all weekend.
- Solarium Kitchen & Bar in Bellevue is offering a Father’s Day brunch.
- Claim Jumper in Tukwila is having a Father’s Day brunch (and it’s right by the Museum of Flight, so you can easily combine these two ideas!)
5. Catch a Mariners game together

6. See the Sounders play in Sunday’s FIFA Club World Cup Match
