Although we love coffee shops (it’s Seattle, after all), we limited this list to places where you can sit down and enjoy some hot breakfast with your caffeine. 1. 5 Spot, Queen Anne
This popular diner-style restaurant in Queen Anne has been closed for the past couple of years—until now! 5 Spot just reopened their doors over the summer, so you can now return to an old favorite or check it out for the first time.

2. Skillet, Capitol Hill
Seattleites love Skillet in Capitol Hill for the relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious comfort food that uses fresh, local ingredients. You can also find their quick-service location, Skillet Regrade, in Belltown and a Skillet counter at Seattle Center. You can even enjoy Skillet at SeaTac Airport.

3. Cafe Flora, Capitol Hill
Cafe Flora is one of Seattle’s most popular vegetarian spots but non-vegetarians will love it too. You’ll find fresh ingredients, a bright and cozy atmosphere, and a new covered patio. Also check out their sister spots The Flora Bakehouse in Beacon Hill and Floret in SeaTac Airport.

4. Lost Lake Cafe & Lounge, Capitol Hill
Lost Lake Cafe is popular in Capitol Hill for its generous portions, mimosas, and indoor/outdoor seating. Best of all, their breakfast is available all day long!

6. The Fat Hen, Ballard
This snug neighborhood cafe in Ballard is popular for its cheerful vibes and comforting breakfast food made only with local, ethical ingredients. Reservations are recommended due to the tight space.

7. Rachel’s Bagels & Burritos, Ballard
These popular bagels and breakfast burritos are actually a product of the pandemic lockdown, which caused the owners to pivot from their previous brunch restaurant. Their bagels are made fresh in-house every day.

8. Sabine, Ballard
Sabine Cafe in Ballard opens a little later in the morning at 9:00 so they may not be the first breakfast choice for early birds. That said, they have a truly lovely space with sophisticated European vibes and an elevated menu to match. You’ll be sorely tempted to return in the evening for Bar Sabine, their 21+ alter ego that opens after the cafe closes.

9. Morsel, U-District
Morsel is one of the best places for biscuits in Seattle, if that’s your preferred choice of breakfast. You can get a biscuit sandwich, coffee, and even gluten-free biscuits and vegan/vegetarian options.

10. Biscuit Bitch, Downtown / Pike Place Market
Here you’ll find homemade biscuits, espresso drinks, and more Southern comfort food—as long as you don’t mind a hearty helping of sass with your order. You’ll find them in Belltown as well as a second location in Pike Place Market.

This cozy neighborhood cafe is located in a quaint little house with additional patio seating. Make sure to get the green eggs and ham.

If you’re looking for a waterfront breakfast in Seattle, check out Meet the Moon in Leschi. Avoid the weekend crowds and go for a late breakfast on a weekday morning (and make sure you get the cinnamon roll).

This is another breakfast spot on our list that’s for the late sleepers—and it’s a must if you crave Southern comfort food for breakfast. Fat’s Chicken and Waffles in the Central District has a hearty New Orleans-inspired menu that includes fried chicken and waffles (naturally), shrimp and grits, and even fried catfish.

If you’re looking for breakfast in Pike Place Market, love biscuits, and don’t feel up to the playful verbal abuse at Biscuit Bitch, then you should go to Honest Biscuits. David Cross approves and that’s enough for us.
