Happy Thanksgiving, Seattle! In the spirit of the holiday, we asked our Instagram followers what they’re grateful to Seattle for, and here are their answers:
1. The Seattle coffee

Many Seattleites said they’re grateful for Seattle’s coffee and the many coffee shops and stands everywhere. Although Starbucks was invented here, Seattleites are spoiled for choice when it comes to indie cafes and artisan coffee.
2. The Seattle sunsets

Seattle sunsets are stunning year-round, whether it’s at 9:00 p.m. in July or 4:00 p.m. in November.
3. The views of the mountains

In addition to Mount Rainier, Seattleites also enjoy stunning views of the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges on clear days.
4. All the dogs

Seattle is a dog-lover’s paradise. You’ll find dog-friendly businesses and parks filled with dogs all throughout the city.
5. The amazing food from all over the world

Seattleites have good reason to be grateful for the incredible variety of food in this city, from fresh seafood to authentic Asian cuisines like poke, teriyaki, and pho.
6. The art and music

Many Seattleites said they’re grateful for the city’s art and music. Seattle has long enjoyed a reputation for its music scene, and its art galleries and museums are not to be missed as well.
7. The people

What Seattle Freeze? Many Seattleites expressed gratitude for the lasting friendships and relationships that they’ve found in Seattle. One person called out “the kind, intelligent, open-minded, compassionate people.”
8. The evergreen nature

There’s a reason why Seattle is called the Emerald City. Even in the dead of winter, the city is alive with evergreen trees and lush greenery. The rain is good for something!
