Some of the best boba shops in Seattle are joining forces this Saturday, April 30 in the University District for Seattle Boba Fest. It’s fitting, considering April 30 is National Bubble Tea Day! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate.
Given how popular boba is in Seattle, you may be surprised to learn that this is the Seattle’s first-ever boba fest. Or perhaps this will be your first boba experience as well. If you’ve never had it before, you’re in for a treat.
Boba (also known as bubble tea) is a sweet tea-based drink that contains chewy tapioca balls. It’s fun to look at, fun to consume, and—thanks to the endless flavors and varieties—fun to order.
You will get the chance to sample different boba drinks from 16 different vendors at Seattle Boba Fest. Some of the most popular boba shops in Seattle will be there, including Timeless Tea, YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea, Don’t Yell at Me, and Oasis Tea Zone.
There will also be food and boba-themed desserts available if you’re hungry. If you have a sweet tooth be sure to try the boba soft serve from Cold Plate and the milk tea ice cream with boba topping from Sweet Alchemy Ice Creamery! There will also be fast food served by Boba Smoothies and the famous moon cakes from Mee Sum Pastry.
And that’s not all. There will be a photo booth so you can snap a memento of your day at Seattle Boba Fest! You can find the photo booth operating throughout the festival at the U District Station on NE 43rd Street (look for the welcome tent).
Not sure if boba is for you? Some of the inventive flavor combinations that will be offered on Saturday include lychee and pineapple combined with green tea, fresh mango and lemon, and strawberries and jasmine green tea topped with a sea salt cheese cream foam. There’s something at Seattle Boba Fest for every palette!
