Some of the best boba shops in Seattle are joining forces this for Seattle Boba Fest this Saturday, April 29 in the University District. It’s fitting, considering April 30 is National Bubble Tea Day! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate.
Given how popular boba is in Seattle, you may be surprised to learn that this is only the second-ever boba fest in Seattle. The first event took place last year and was hugely popular with over 20,000 attendees!
If you’ve never had boba before, you’re in for a treat. Boba (also known as bubble tea) is a sweet tea-based drink that contains chewy tapioca balls. It’s fun to look at, fun to consume, and—thanks to the endless flavors and varieties—fun to order.
You’ll get to try boba drinks and boba-inspired desserts and shopping from 25 vendors at Seattle Boba Fest. Some of the most popular boba shops in Seattle will be there, including DingTea Seattle, Möge Tee, Don’t Yell at Me, and Boba Up.
There will also be food and boba-themed desserts available if you’re hungry. If you have a sweet tooth be sure to try the boba soft serve from Cold Plate and the milk tea ice cream with boba topping from Sweet Alchemy Ice Creamery! There will also be boba-themed goods sold by Shiga’s Imports.
Not sure if boba is for you? Some of the inventive flavor combinations that will be offered on Saturday include lychee and cheese foam, peach oolong tea, and matcha milk tea with boba. There’s something at Seattle Boba Fest for every palette!
