With the arrival of fall comes one of our favorite traditions: Oktoberfest! This September and October, there will be several Oktoberfest celebrations in Seattle and nearby where you can enjoy a day (or an entire weekend!) of beer, brats and pretzels, and dancing. All of these local Oktoberfest events will have beer gardens as well as traditional German food and entertainment. Many of them will also have kid-friendly activities, although some festivals are for ages 21+ only. And some are free! We’ve listed them below in chronological order.
Here’s where you can celebrate Oktoberfest in Seattle and the surrounding region this fall:
1. The Great Wallingford Wurst Fest
📅When: September 12-13, 2025
📍Where: St. Benedict School in Wallingford
💲Cost: Free!
All ages are welcome at this community fall festival taking place over two days this September in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. In addition to the 21+ beer garden, there will be live music, food, and lots of kid-friendly activities. The Great Wallingford Wurst Fest is a great low-key, budget-friendly option especially if you have kiddos in tow.
2. Kenmore Oktoberfest

📅When: September 13 and 18-21, 2025
📍Where: 6728 NE 181st St, Kenmore, WA
💲Cost: Free or $10-$23 for beer garden access
This is the second annual Oktoberfest in Kenmore! Kenmore will be hosting five days of epic Bavarian fun, starting with the Oktoberfest Fly Away 10K run and 5K run/walk on Saturday, September 13. Then from September 18-21 there will be four days of beer gardens, stein-holding competitions, live music, and fun for kids. Note that tickets are required for the beer gardens; the rest of the festival is free.
3. Fremont Oktoberfest

📅When: September 19-21, 2025
📍Where: 35th St and Canal St, Seattle, WA 98103
💲Cost: $30+
Fremont Oktoberfest is the largest beer festival in Seattle! Your ticket will get you a commemorative mug and tasting tokens for 80+ craft beers, including award-winners, microbrews, traditional German bier, ciders, and seltzers. Have a great time eating soft pretzels, hitting the dance floor at the DJ Tower, and flexing in the Stein Hoisting competition. 4. West Seattle Octoberfest

📅When: October 3-5, 2025
📍Where: Ounces Taproom
💲Cost: Free!
This three-day Oktoberfest in West Seattle is dog-friendly and open to all ages. Plus it’s free to attend! There will be local beer, live music, food, costume contests, and more. You can see the full schedule of events on the Ounces Taproom website.
5. Oktoberfest Northwest

📅When: October 3-5, 2025
📍Where: Puyallup, WA
💲Cost: $7.50+
When the Washington State Fair wraps up at the end of September, the fairgrounds quickly get transformed into Washington’s largest Munich-style Oktoberfest celebration! In addition to authentic Bavarian food and beer, you’ll get to enjoy live entertainment, games and competitions, and family-friendly fun. Tickets will go on sale online soon, but you can also buy them at the gate. Kids under 12 are admitted for free!
6. OktoBEARfest at Woodland Park Zoo

📅When: October 4, 2025
📍Where: Woodland Park Zoo
💲Cost: $57-$145
Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo will have over 50 Northwest breweries and cideries at this 21+ event on Saturday, October 4. You’ll be able to wander around the zoo exhibits, engage in fun activities, and listen to Keeper Talks with a drink in hand. Tickets start at $57 for designated driver tickets or $85 for general admission. You can also get the top ticket tier of Conservation Partner, which at $145 includes early admission, double the tasting tokens, exclusive experiences, and commemorative merch. 7. Oktoberfest in Leavenworth

📅When: October 3-4, 10-11, and 17-18, 2025
📍Where: Leavenworth, WA
💲Cost: $17 – $44
It’s hard to think of a more fitting place to celebrate Oktoberfest than in the Bavarian-style town of Leavenworth in the Cascade Mountains. This picturesque setting practically demands that you come dressed in your best lederhosen and dirndl. There will be beer gardens, music and dancing, and even some free kid-friendly fun at the Kinderplatz each weekend. Tickets are on sale now on the Leavenworth Oktoberfest website.
