National Library Week is a great time to go to your local Seattle Public Library and sign up for your very own library card. It runs from April 7-13 and will feature lots of wonderful workshops and events at your local library. But the real secret is that our local public libraries here in Seattle offer community classes, workshops, events, and activities every single week of the year.
The Seattle Public Library encourages everyone to come and use all of the many resources available to the public. This includes asking a librarian for help. Librarians are the true treasures at the library. Go befriend your local librarians this week.
Libraries tend to be the forgotten meeting places in the United States. But there are so many reasons to not just remember but fully utilize them. Maybe you work or study remotely, but you don’t want to buy a coffee or pay a steep coworking fee. Sometimes your kids need a rainy day activity that won’t break the bank.
Maybe you’re trying to stick to that New Year’s resolution to read more. Perhaps you miss the old-fashioned feeling of browsing a shelf at Blockbuster to find a film for your slumber party with your best friend on a Friday night. The answer to all these situations is your local public library.
Plus, there are no time limits on staying at the library. You can bask in the delightful smell of books and hushed ambiance of library whispers all day long. It’s the perfect time to get reacquainted with everything on offer at your local Seattle Public Library during National Library Week.
