Are you fully vaccinated? This is what you need to know about the end of mask mandate in King County.
King County has said that almost 70% of eligible people in Washington state have received either one dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine, or both doses of the Pfizer, or Moderna. Dr. Jeff Duchin, King County health officer said: “my local mask mandate will no longer apply since the number of deaths, hospitalizations, and cases have drastically reduced”.
Washington state is expected to fully reopen, with no restrictions by the end of June, or when 70% of the state residents 16 and older have one vaccine dose, whichever comes sooner.
Recommendations are suggested to businesses that are open to the public. Grocery stores and other retail settings should continue to implement policies, and practices to ensure their customer’s and employees’ safety. Businesses have the authority to continue the mask mandate in their establishments, and it’s also a good idea to improve indoor ventilation to reduce the spreading of COVID 19.
