Town Hall is a vibrant cultural center located in the city center. Originally built as a Christian Science church in 1916, the building was converted into a cultural venue in 1998 and has since become a hub for community events, lectures, comedy shows and political debates. The venue features a unique central dome complete with a decorative oculus and stained–glass windows, which form the perfect backdrop for live performances under the candlelight.
Sparkman Cellars: a family-owned invigorating venue
Have you ever thought of attending an intimate concert in a winery? For those of you that enjoy a glass of vino, let the church say Hallelujah! Located in the heart of Seattle, Sparkman Cellars is known for its high-quality wines and unique tasting experiences. First constructed in the early 1900s, the building served as a warehouse for the Seattle Lighting Company, then in the ’50s was converted into a machine shop, then later on used as a storage space. So, it’s had its fair share of change. Today the building is transformed into a sleek and modern winery, ideal for intimate concerts and a must-visit venue for lovers of music and wine alike.
Arctic Club Hotel: opulence and charm
If you’re in the mood for something a tad more luxurious, look no further. Located at the Northeast corner of Third Avenue and Cherry Street, Arctic Club Hotel offers elegant accommodations and state-of-the-art amenities. It was built in 1914 for the Arctic Club, a social club established by wealthy individuals who experienced Alaska’s gold rush by the end of the 19th century.
The Alaskan inspiration can be noticed in the main corridors, covered in fine Alaskan marble and the famous sculptured walrus heads lining the third-floor exterior. Besides the marble corridors, the Northern Lights Dome Room, is an opulent space with Rococo gilding and chandeliers, original frescos, ornamental cornices, and a stained-glass ceiling.
