Seattle’s iconic Pike Place Market has been named the best-rated farmers’ market in the United States, earning a perfect 10 out of 10 in a nationwide ranking by vacation-rental search engine Holidu.
To create the ranking, Holidu analyzed more than 1,500 farmers’ markets across the country using data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Google. Markets were evaluated based on their average Google rating, number of reviews and variety of products. Pike Place Market emerged at the top, boasting more than 50,000 Google reviews: the highest review count among the markets studied.
First opened in 1907, Pike Place has become one of Seattle’s most recognizable destinations while continuing to serve as a hub for local producers, artisans, and small businesses such as used bookstores and tarot shops. Visitors can browse seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, flowers, specialty foods, handmade crafts and locally produced goods. The market also offers entertainment throughout the year, including live performances, cooking demonstrations, and theater.
Holidu also noted the market’s distinctive year-round appeal. While flower and farm stands draw crowds during the warmer months, most of the market’s permanent businesses operate throughout the year. Its holiday season brings festive decorations, live Christmas music, seasonal shopping and special performances, adding another layer to the market’s already lively atmosphere.
The market’s offerings are expanding into the evening, too. In July 2026, Pike Place launched The Night Shift, a free monthly event held on the fourth Friday of each month through October. The after-dark series features local art, live music, food and community activities. The final event, on Friday, October 23, will feature a special Día de los Muertos celebration.
Pike Place Market is located at 85 Pike St. and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., although some vendors and businesses in the market may have slightly different hours.
