If you love a good thrift-store hunt, Seattle is home to the ultimate thrifting black hole: Evergreen Goodwill’s flagship at 1400 S Lane St., which the nonprofit describes as the world’s largest Goodwill. Prepare to lose a minimum of one hour inside browsing the many racks and shelves (and also be prepared to dig a little bit, but that’s all part of the fun).
Spanning roughly 70,000 square feet, the massive store offers an almost overwhelming amount to browse. Approximately 10,000 new items are put on the sales floor every day, while Evergreen Goodwill’s annual report says more than 57,000 new items are priced each week. In other words, even frequent shoppers can find something different on their very next visit.
The selection covers just about every corner of secondhand shopping, from clothing, shoes and accessories to furniture, home decor, sporting goods, toys, and seasonal merchandise like Halloween costumes and holiday decor. Depending on the day, shoppers can also uncover collectibles, vintage pieces and other unusual finds. For sports fans, the store’s location is especially convenient: it’s only about two miles from both Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park, making it a potential pregame stop for bargain-hunting visitors on the hunt for low-priced team apparel.
The flagship also recently got a visual refresh. In June 2026, it unveiled a new permanent mural by Seattle-born artist and muralist Stevie Shao. The colorful work highlights themes of community, opportunity and place, adding some local character to the enormous retail space.
Beyond the sheer volume of merchandise, there’s a community mission behind the store. Shopping and donating at Evergreen Goodwill help support its free job-training and adult-education classes and workshops.
For shoppers, the store is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Donation Center has separate hours and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
