Although we have a guide full of reliable things to do this Valentine’s Day in Seattle, sometimes it’s fun to think outside the box. If you and your love are tired of the typical dinner date, consider celebrating this Valentine’s Day at Woodland Park Zoo.
On Thursday, February 22 Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo is celebrating Valentine’s Day with their Mating and Dating event. This educational evening is for ages 21 and up due to the racy theme and the fact that there will be cocktails for sale. There will be light snacks available for purchase as well. The event runs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. so plan ahead for an early or late dinner.
You probably have to know your date’s interests pretty well since the topic of discussion could make some people a little bashful. As the event description on the zoo’s website puts it: “Buy a cocktail at the bar and settle in while zoo staff and ambassador animals take you on a funny, fascinating, roller coaster of a ride through the sex lives of wildlife!” We think whoever came up with this event deserves a raise.
The best part is that the zoo’s event isn’t on Valentine’s Day but the following week. So you can have a typical Valentine’s dinner at a romantic restaurant in Seattle and then surprise your mate a few days later with this bonus night out!
If you’d like to register for Mating and Dating you can get your tickets now on the Woodland Park Zoo website. Act fast, since last year’s event sold out quickly.
