Seattle’s wellness scene is getting an exciting new option in just two weeks when Vancouver-based Circle Wellness opens its first U.S. location near Gas Works Park. Reservations are now open, with openings available starting September 1.
The concept differs from traditional bathhouses, saunas and cold-plunge studios by offering fully private, self-guided thermal circuits for up to two guests in a clothing-optional setting. Each session combines a cedar soaking tub, WellPod sauna, optional cold plunge and heated riverstones, with automation technology coordinating the sequence.
The experience draws on bathing traditions from around the world. Inspired by Japanese onsens, the circuit begins with an open-air shower and a 20-minute soak in a custom cedar tub, which is drained, cleaned and refilled with fresh water for every session. Guests can relax, stretch or float before moving into the WellPod.
The sauna draws inspiration from Korean jjimjilbangs and features Himalayan salt walls, dynamic lighting, sound curated with local artists and fresh air. Rather than focusing on extreme heat, the WellPod uses a gentler, longer heat exposure. Guests can add a cold plunge before resting on heated riverstones in an open-air reflexology area.

Living plant walls reference Pacific Northwest forests, while a custom soundscape accompanies the circuit. The automated system manages the sequence and resets each space between visits.
Circle Wellness launched in 2020 as an Airbnb Experience in Vancouver and became one of the platform’s highest-rated wellness offerings. Interest eventually produced a 20,000-person waitlist ahead of the company’s Granville Island flagship, which opened in 2023.
The Seattle location marks Circle Wellness’ first expansion into the United States and will serve as its flagship location in the States, showing confidence in how well the company’s private thermal spa format will fit into the Pacific Northwest.
