Seattle’s UW Night Market is back this Saturday!
This annual night market is one of our favorite foodie events in Seattle. The UW Night Market is a celebration of Taiwan food and culture taking place at the University of Washington this Saturday, May 13. There will be delicious food and beverages, vendors selling handmade crafts, and entertainment. Best of all: admission is free!
Read on for all the details!
The UW Night Market is an entirely student-run event at the University of Washington. The Taiwanese Student Association (TSA) at the University works to increase awareness and appreciation of Taiwanese culture. Night markets are hugely popular in Taiwan, and TSA has been bringing this tradition in the form of the UW Night Market to Seattle for over 20 years.
Here are some answers to questions you may have before attending this weekend’s market!
What is the admission cost?
The UW Night Market has free admission! However, you will need to use cards or the market’s vouchers to pay for food and activities (no cash). You can purchase vouchers online or in-person at the market’s info booth.
Is there parking?
Your best bet would be to take public transportation if possible so as to avoid traffic. Otherwise you can find free parking at the E1, E12, E18, E19 parking lots or limited paid parking at the Central Plaza Parking Garage.
Is the market pet-friendly? What about kids?
Yes, dogs are welcome as long as they’re leashed! This market is very kid-friendly as well.
What kind of food and drinks will be there?
You can expect lots of boba (bubble tea), traditional Taiwanese eats such as pork buns and stinky tofu, and desserts like raindrop cake. There will also be vendors selling handmade jewelry, clothes, art, and more.
