Looking for a cool new bar in Seattle to check out? Allow us to suggest this arcade bar that just opened! Time Warp Bar in Capitol Hill has pinball and arcade games to play while you have a drink and chow down on ramen.
Read on to find out why Time Warp calls themself the cheapest date on the hill!
The Time Warp bar in Capitol Hill had been in the works for almost three years before it finally opened at the end of 2022. “Owned and operated by a team of avid pinball and arcade players,” Time Warp is a collaboration between Joe Ricci, Sean Bray, Tim Uomoto, and Greg Larson. If you find yourself admiring the bar’s cyberpunk-themed interior design, that was designed and produced by the art group Totally Legit.
Time Warp’s main draw is its well-curated collection of pinball and arcade games. Some are one-of-a-kind, such as the bar’s The Simpsons Colonoscopy Party game built by local artists Andrew Cole and Jeffrey Larson. You may want to prepare for the procedure by downing one of Time Warp’s excellent craft cocktails first.
Hungry after all that gaming? You can choose from their “library of exotic ramens from around the world.” A cup of instant ramen with two sides of your choice will run you $8. You can have a lot of fun mixing and matching the ramen varieties with sides like peanut butter, soy curls, and Kraft singles.
As they put it on their website, “Two cup noodles, two beers, and a round of pinball, why that’s the cheapest date on the hill!”
If instant ramen isn’t your thing, there’s a ramen restaurant and a Bok A Bok Fried Chicken across the street. You’re welcome to bring outside food into the bar.
Time Warp regularly hosts events such as DJ nights, pinball tournaments, and happy hours for local community groups. They can also host your private event with up to 80 people. If you want to celebrate your birthday or other event there you can email them at events@timewarp.bar.
