Ever since its long-awaited opening in late 2021, Seattleites have attempted (sometimes unsuccessfully) to nab reservations to Ballard’s wizard-themed bar The Splintered Wand. If you never managed to make it inside, we’re sorry to say that you missed your chance. According to an announcement made by the owners this week, The Splintered Wand is closing effective immediately. If you had a reservation made, it has been cancelled.
Read on for the details.
In the first week of January 2023, The Splintered Wand’s closing was announced on their website and Instagram page with the following statement:
It is with great sadness that the Splintered Wand will be closing its doors effective immediately. All reservations now and in the future have been canceled. We are deeply sorry for those who were unable to experience the magic with us, and are grateful for the support we’ve received over the year we’ve been open. Stay magical, Ballard – we will miss you.
The Splintered Wand opened in late 2021 after a years-long wait. They offered wand-making experiences, potion-themed drinks, and a full food menu in a setting full of whimsical and magical decor. They operated on a reservations-only basis. No specific reason for the abrupt closing was shared publicly along with the closing announcement. They’ll be leaving a pretty cool space in Ballard empty, so we’re curious to see what pops up in the historic three-story building next.
We’re sorry to see The Splintered Wand closing after such a brief run. The good news is that Seattle still has a healthy amount of fun themed bars—read all about them at the link below!
