Seattle’s electronic music fans have something big to celebrate. After more than a decade away from the city, Grammy-winning DJ and producer Skrillex is making a return performance at Gas Works Park on August 29—and he’ll be bringing friends.
Skrillex posted an Instagram Story on Thursday, July 30 announcing Gas Works Day Party on August 29 with Porter Robinson, Dylan Brady, Nick Leon, and Underscores. The Story was accompanied with a link to sign up for presale.
The artist presale will be on Wednesday, August 5 at 10am PT and the general ticket sale will be Thursday, August 6 at 10am PT. Due to high demand, tickets are sure to go fast.
Doors for Gas Works Day Party open at 3:00 p.m. on August 29. Note that this show is for ages 21+ only.
Tthe show marks Skrillex’s first Seattle appearance since 2012, when hhe headlined Bumbershoot at KeyArena. His most recent performances in Washington took place at the now-defunct Paradiso festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre, where he headlined in both 2015 and 2019.
The artist, known for hits including “Bangarang” and “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites,” fueled speculation throughout the summer with a pair of social media posts aimed at Seattle fans.
On July 17, Skrillex simply posted “Seattle?” on X, prompting widespread discussion. Less than two weeks later, on July 29, he shared a photo of Gas Works Park on both Instagram Stories and X. The Instagram post featured Porter Robinson and Ninajirachi’s new track “WannaCry,” while the X post included only the image alongside a starry-eyed emoji.
Adding to the speculation, Seattle Parks and Recreation listed a large concert scheduled for Gas Works Park on August 29 from noon to 9 p.m., with an estimated attendance of about 10,000 people. Although a performer was not listed, many fans made the connection between this and Skrillex’s recent posts.
The timing fits neatly into his current touring schedule. Skrillex is booked to perform at Boomtown Festival in Winchester, England, on August 16 before appearing at Portola Music Festival in San Francisco on September 26, leaving room for a Seattle stop in between.
No Seattle date has been added to Skrillex’s official tour schedule yet, but Skrillex posted the link to the presale signup on his Instagram story on Thursday. You can sign up for the Gas Works Day Party presale here.
