Seattle’s summer event calendar wouldn’t be complete without the South Lake Union Block Party, returning on Friday, August 14, 2026. As the neighborhood’s largest and longest-running celebration, this free, all-ages event transforms the streets around Westlake Avenue N and Denny Way into a lively gathering filled with music, food, games, and community activities.
Live music is one of the day’s biggest attractions, with performances taking place on two stages. The Main Stage features popular Seattle bands, while the Community Stage at 9th Avenue and John Street showcases emerging local musicians and rising talent from across the region. With performances scheduled throughout the event, there’s always something happening.
The Community Fair offers a chance to experience the best of South Lake Union. Local vendors, nonprofits, and neighborhood organizations will be on hand to share information, offer shopping opportunities, and connect with attendees. Visitors can meet representatives from Seattle Humane, museums, educational organizations, fitness studios, and other local businesses. A variety of food trucks will be serving meals, snacks, and sweet treats throughout the day, while beer and cocktails will be available for adults.
For those who enjoy a little friendly competition, the Street Scramble turns the neighborhood into an interactive scavenger hunt. Teams—or solo participants—navigate to as many checkpoints as possible before time runs out. The course can be completed by walking, running, biking, scootering, or even with a stroller, making it accessible for participants of all ages.
The afternoon also includes a free yoga class led by CorePower Yoga from 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. on the Main Stage. Open to all experience levels, the session offers a chance to unwind, stretch, and enjoy a relaxing break amid the day’s festivities.
With free admission, live entertainment, local vendors, delicious food, and activities for every age, the South Lake Union Block Party remains one of Seattle’s signature summer traditions and a favorite way to celebrate the season.
