Seattle rooftop season has a pretty short window, which makes every sunny weekend feel a little urgent. If you’re hoping to make the most of it this year, Harry’s Good Times Co. and Rhonda INTL are bringing back their rooftop party series, A Rooftop Named Desire, with four sun-drenched afternoons coming to a Seattle rooftop between June and September.
According to the event page, it looks like this year’s parties will take place at The Jack, a newer rooftop venue at 74 S Jackson St with waterfront views and plenty of open-air space for summer hangs. The rooftop party series kicks off Friday, June 26, with additional dates on Saturday, July 18; Sunday, September 6; and Saturday, September 26. So far, over 500 people have registered their interest in attending the first party in June.
The collaboration marks the return of a party that skipped last summer, reuniting Seattle hospitality group Harry’s Good Times Co. with Los Angeles nightlife collective Rhonda INTL, also known as A Club Called Rhonda. The events are expected to have DJs, dancing, and dressing up—or at least as dressed up as Seattle gets.
Harry’s operates a handful of neighborhood spots around the city, including Harry’s Beach House in West Seattle and Harry’s Fine Foods on Capitol Hill. They also just announced plans to open a boutique hotel and restaurant in a historic mansion near Volunteer Park (read more about The Baillie here). Rhonda, meanwhile, has built an international following over the years for its inclusive electronic music parties and visually stylized club nights. What started as a local LA dance party back in 2008 has expanded into events hosted around the world.
