PCC Community Markets announced this week that their newest Seattle location is opening this fall. The new grocery store is coming to Seattle’s Madison Valley neighborhood after a decade-long development process, marking the 17th PCC location in the Pacific Northwest.
The store, located at 2925 E. Madison Street, will offer PCC’s full range of products. In an announcement post on Instagram, PCC wrote:
“Madison Valley, your neighborhood co-op is coming this fall! This new location will offer the high-quality groceries PCC is known for, including local, organic produce; ethically raised meat and seafood; and a wide selection of seasonal products from across the Pacific Northwest. Everything you’ll find will be sourced to our co-op’s uncompromising standards — prioritizing organic practices, fair labor, animal welfare and more.”
Inside, the store will feature PCC-branded and Field Day products, a bulk section focused on affordable staples, and a deli offering freshly prepared meals, salads, sandwiches, soups, and grab-and-go options.
The Madison Valley location is expected to employ about 75 people, including deli staff who will prepare food in-house. PCC says it offers competitive pay, benefits, and a workplace culture centered on care and respect.
The Madison Valley PCC has been in the works for 10 years. Amy Chow, Acting CEO of PCC Community Markets, shared how community input shaped its development:
“We signed this lease ten years ago, and it’s been a long road to get here as the project worked through the local process, with input from the neighborhood along the way. That makes it especially meaningful to finally open our doors and put down roots here. This neighborhood has such a strong sense of community, and we look forward to being a part of people’s everyday routines.”
Founded in 1953 by 15 families, PCC now has over 122,000 member-owners and is the largest consumer-owned food cooperative in the United States. Its mission focuses on promoting community health through organic food and supporting local food systems. The co-op currently operates 16 stores across the Puget Sound region, including in these Seattle neighborhoods: Ballard, Central District, Columbia City, Downtown, Fremont, Green Lake, View Ridge, and West Seattle.
The new PCC location in Madison Valley will be located just south of the Seattle Japanese Garden and Washington Park Arboretum, making it a convenient option for grab-and-go picnic fare.
Construction is already underway. Although PCC said the store is on track to open in fall 2026, an exact date is not yet known; more details about the opening will be shared soon.
