If you love a good treasure hunt, clear your schedule for Saturday, May 30: the annual Mount Baker Neighborhood Yard Sale is back. From vintage finds and household bargains to books, toys, and furniture, the neighborhood-wide event is a chance to shop, sell, and connect with neighbors all in one day.
The fun kicks off at 10 a.m. and most sales will run until about 3 p.m. Shoppers can plan their route using a map of participating homes and featured items. An online map will be posted on Friday, May 29 on the event page. Prefer paper? Hard copies will also be available at the Mount Baker Community Club, located at 2811 Mount Rainier Drive S. Just don’t show up too early: paper maps will be handed out starting at 9:50 a.m., and organizers are asking everyone to respect the “no early birds” rule.
Set in Southeast Seattle, Mount Baker is known for its gorgeous historic homes, leafy streets, and views across Lake Washington toward the mountain that gave the neighborhood its name. Bordered by Lake Washington, Interstate 90, Rainier Valley, and Columbia City, it’s one of Seattle’s most active and community-oriented neighborhoods.
The yard sale is organized each year by the Mount Baker Community Club, a volunteer-run nonprofit located next to Mount Baker Park. In addition to hosting events at the neighborhood clubhouse, the organization supports park stewardship projects and publishes community news and local history stories throughout the year.
Can’t make it this weekend? Seattle’s neighborhood yard sale season is just getting started. While the popular West Seattle Garage Sale Day wrapped up last month, several other neighborhoods still have community-wide sale days coming up. See our guide to Seattle’s garage sale days!
