Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 20, because Montlake is getting ready for a full day of neighborhood yard-sale browsing. The annual Montlake Yard Sale returns for its 12th year, with more than 100 sale locations expected throughout the Seattle neighborhood.
The event officially runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., but shoppers should keep in mind that individual yard sales may begin before 10 a.m. or continue past 2 p.m. With so many participating homes, there should be plenty of opportunities to search for everything from vintage finds to household treasures.
For Seattle bargain hunters, neighborhood-wide yard sales are a favorite way to spend a weekend. West Seattle Garage Sale Day is a popular event each May, and in August, Capitol Hill brings its own community yard sale to Cal Anderson Park. Now Montlake is inviting shoppers to explore its residential streets and see what local sellers have been saving.
Situated between Capitol Hill and the U District, Montlake is a centrally located neighborhood just south of the U District and the Montlake Cut. Its leafy streets and picturesque homes provide the backdrop for the day’s sales. If you’re planning to visit by car, remember that the neighborhood may be busy, so drive carefully around pedestrians and give yourself some extra time to find street parking.
Want to participate as a seller? Seller registration for the 2026 event has already closed. There’s always next year, though; the only requirement is simply that you must be a resident of Montlake.
As for shoppers, the key resource will be the event map. A detailed map of participating sales, along with a list of items being offered, will be available on the Montlake website on Saturday, September 19, the day before the sale.
On September 20, visitors with questions can also stop by the information desk in front of Cafe Lago. Bring your shopping bags, comfortable shoes, and a little patience—you never know what treasures you’ll find around the next corner.
