The Seattle Public Library’s Museum Pass program is one of our favorite ways to enjoy the city on a budget. Every 30 days you can sign up for free passes to a Seattle museum or attraction (like the zoo!) on an online reservation system. The only requirement is that you need a Seattle library card. You can sign up for a library card here.
Unfortunately, the Museum Pass program is temporarily pausing as of December 31, 2024. The library needs to find a new vendor for managing the online reservation system on short notice. Existing reservations will be honored but you won’t be able to make new reservations or download passes after December 31 (so download or print your passes ASAP!). See more info here.
The library doesn’t have a timeline yet for restarting the program but we will update this post as soon as there are any developments.
In the meantime: below you’ll find all the info you need about using the Museum Pass once the program returns!
Each museum pass includes at least two adult tickets. Some passes include four or more tickets. Passes become available every day after 1:00 p.m. and you’re eligible to reserve new passes every 30 days. Note that they do go fast, so set an alarm and be persistent!
Here are the Seattle museums that participate in the library’s Museum Pass program:
- Burke Museum
- Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum
- Henry Art Gallery
- Museum of Flight
- Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI)
- Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP)
- National Nordic Museum
- Seattle Art Museum
- Seattle Children’s Museum
- Wing Luke Museum
Additionally, here are several other popular Seattle attractions included in the program:
- Center for Wooden Boats: use one of the Museum’s historic row boats on Lake Union for one hour for free!
- Seattle Aquarium
- Woodland Park Zoo
We will update this post when we have a date for the return of the Museum Pass program!
