The Georgetown Morgue has a long history involving thousands of funeral preparations, cremations, and even the processing of animal carcasses. According to the stories surrounding the location, the building is allegedly connected to what has been described as the most horrifying unsolved crime in Seattle history.
The chilling story claims that nine staff members were forced into the crematorium chamber. There were reportedly no surviving witnesses, and no suspects were ever identified. Whether you visit for the history, the atmosphere, or the scares, that backstory certainly adds an extra layer of creepiness to the experience.
And there’s another reason to return if you’ve been before: the show changes every year. That means returning visitors can expect a fresh experience rather than simply repeating the same scares.
Tickets and important details
General admission tickets start at $38. Visitors can also pay extra for options such as skipping the line or taking a behind-the-scenes tour. The Ultimate Experience includes those perks along with additional extras.
For an additional scare, visitors can enter The Dark Maze, described as a pitch-black labyrinth where you’ll face complete darkness, disorientation, and the unknown. The add-on costs $8.
As with many haunted attractions, tickets are non-refundable. You can leave at any point, and the attraction has multiple emergency exits, but leaving because you’re too scared won’t result in a refund. In other words: if you get scared, you got what you paid for.
