Do you love beer? Of course you do—you live in Seattle, after all. Well, get ready to enjoy nine full days of delicious craft beer at Seattle Beer Week! Running from Friday, May 13 to Saturday, May 21, the 13th annual celebration of beer is going to have daily events and partnerships with breweries and restaurants.
Seattle is one of the greatest cities to live in if you love beer. You can find a brewery or taproom in every neighborhood (especially in the Ballard Brewery District). Rain or shine, there is no shortage of craft beers to enjoy in Seattle. Seattle Beer Week was started in 2008 with the aim of highlighting the creativity and talent in the Seattle beer scene.
Seattle Beer Week 2022 kicks off at 4pm this Friday, May 13 at Queen Anne Beerhall (203 W. Thomas Street). In addition to the beerhall’s 25 premium draft beers, soft Bavarian pretzels, and craft cocktails, there will be a ceremonial tapping of the week’s official beer brewed by Black Raven Brewing.
The celebrations continue every day for the rest of the week at various locations. One of the highlights scheduled for this Saturday, May 14 is Beer Squares: a beer-themed twist on the classic television game show, Hollywood Squares at Beveridge Place Pub in West Seattle. Local craft beer celebrities will compete to win this obscure beer trivia game while you enjoy special collaboration beers on tap (from noon to 3pm).
Later on this Saturday at 3pm you can head over to The Pine Box at 1600 Melrose Ave to compete in the beer can derby! Build a car out of a beer can and race to win bragging rights.
Other events hosted by various venues throughout the week include an ice cream social, a four-course beer education night, Tiki Tuesday, a beer and salami pairing, a hazy IPA class, a bocce tournament, and a dog adoption and fundraiser event. It’s safe to say there will be something for everyone!
The week will wrap up with a brunch next Saturday, May 21 at Ladd & Lass Brewing in the University District where you can enjoy coffee-infused beers and bagels from Darling & Company.
You can also stop by Seattle Beer Company (near Pike Place Market) all day, every day during Seattle Beer Week to enjoy a large selection of Seattle hazy beers on tap.
