It’s not an April Fools prank: Bigfoot has arrived at the Seattle waterfront this month. Miners Landing at Pier 57 has unveiled a brand-new attraction, inviting visitors to step into Sasquatch Mountain and hunt for the legendary creature themselves through a cutting-edge VR ride.
The immersive experience has been in the works for nearly a year and just opened to the public this April. Much like the myth of Sasquatch itself, many elements of the ride’s story were under wraps—but a few details have emerged. Guests, cast as daring explorers, begin their journey by walking through an earthen tunnel into a hangar-like staging zone. There, they receive instructions for their mission: track down Bigfoot.
Next, riders put on a PICO Virtual Reality headset before entering the main theater, which accommodates 24 people at a time. The attraction blends digital visuals with physical effects to heighten realism. You’ll smell pine trees, feel a breeze, and even experience motions built into your seat.
For families wondering if it’s suitable for kids: the official website describes it as “family-friendly with thrilling moments.” Riders must be at least 42 inches tall, with tickets priced at $25 for adults and $20 for youth.
While you’re there, Miners Landing offers plenty more attractions, including Wings Over Washington, the Seattle Great Wheel, the Klondike Arcade, and Salish Sea Tours. Want to do it all? A new all-access pass is now available, covering five attractions on the Seattle waterfront to make it even easier to experience everything in one visit.
