It’s been an exciting month for ice cream news in Seattle. First, there was the announcement of the new Molly Moon’s opening in Waterfront Park this April. Now, Portland-based ice cream company Salt & Straw is opening a scoop shop at Pike Place Market.
Read on for all the details!
Salt & Straw is known for their quirky ice cream flavors such as Pear and Blue Cheese, Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper, and Honey Lavender. Their menu gets updated every month with unique, locally-crafted flavors. They offer dairy-free and gluten-free flavors as well!
The new Salt & Straw will be located at 102 Pike Street, directly across from Seattle’s iconic Pike Place Market. The exact opening date has yet to be announced (and we’ll update this post when it is) but it is due to open by the end of this year. Once it’s open, we highly recommend getting your ice cream and taking it to the new Overlook Walk for a treat with a view.
Salt & Straw will also be opening a shop in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood this year as well as one in Redmond, which is part of the greater Seattle area. In the meantime, you can find currently-open Salt & Straw scoop shops in Seattle’s Ballard and Capitol Hill neighborhoods (at 5420 Ballard Ave NW and 714 E Pike St., respectively), as well as in nearby Kirkland.
