Ultimately, one PNW resort topped the list of the 15 best resorts in the United States’ western region: Salish Lodge & Spa in Snoqualmie, Washington. This iconic resort is located a brief 30-40 minute drive from downtown Seattle, but it feels like a world away.
Readers raved about the Salish Lodge’s setting as well as its rooms, restaurant, and award-winning spa. We have featured the spa in our guide to the best spas in Seattle.
As for the stunning setting, it may look familiar to you. The Salish Lodge sits atop the 268-foot Snoqualmie Falls. Not only is this one of Washington State’s most popular attractions, but it is also seen in the opening credits of the show Twin Peaks. If you’re a fan of the show, then you need to check out our guide to visiting Snoqualmie, the home of Twin Peaks.
If you choose to stay at the Salish Lodge & Spa, you can expect rooms that Travel + Leisure says “are designed to be a cozy mountain retreat, with feather bedding and an in-room gas fireplace.” Some of the rooms also have oversize soaking tubs and balconies offering a personal view of the falls.
Due to its proximity to Seattle you can also visit for the day to enjoy the restaurant, the spa, and the natural beauty of the Snoqualmie Falls. To book a room or a spa day, visit the Salish Lodge website.
