Rasai’s new multi-course tasting menu concept emphasizes “fun, interaction, and unique plating techniques.” You can choose between the five-course or the seven-course menu, and each one features rotating seasonal ingredients. You can also choose to add on a six-pour cocktail pairing (with or without alcohol).
If you plan to go, here is what to expect in their own words: “Guests are invited to get hands on and participate in a true sensory experience while they enjoy a five or seven course seasonal rotating menu featuring local ingredients plated and presented in an innovative way.”
We had a chance to try the seven-course tasting menu for ourselves. The standouts were the taco course, the halibut moilee (pictured below), and the berry almond cake dessert. If you don’t drink, we highly recommend the NA cocktail pairing as well.
The plating techniques featured elements such as a dish arriving on a wooden hand instead of a plate, tacos that come with a self-squeeze tube of sauce, and truffles plated on a rustic log.
Overall, it is a memorable dining experience for Seattleites. The creative plating techniques make for a unique night out, but the flavors are the main thing that would have us returning.
And, of course, this is one Seattle experience that is perfect for you if you love to post food pics on Instagram.
The five-course tasting menu ($75 per person) is available throughout the week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays while the seven-course option ($90 per person) is available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There are two seating times at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Interested in trying it out for yourself? You can make a reservation on OpenTable. If the tasting menu isn’t for you, they also offer brunch!
