After a weeks-long closure, Seattle’s Pacific Science Center is reopening this October with a creepy new exhibition. We said goodbye to the decades-old animatronic dinosaurs when they were retired in September. Now Pacific Science Center, or PacSci as it’s affectionally called, is reopening on Thursday, October 23 with a new exhibit, reduced general admission, and more improvements!

PacSci’s new exhibition
Spiders: From Fear to Fascination opens on Thursday, October 23. Designed to help challenge misconceptions and fears around spiders, this exhibition is for all ages and even for those with “a mild case of arachnophobia.” You get to choose your participation level, from seeing virtual spiders and preserved specimens to viewing over a dozen live species. This is a temporary exhibition; you have until April 2026 to check it out!
Reduced general admission
If you can plan your visit to Pacific Science Center soon, this is a budget-friendly time to go! To celebrate their reopening, general admission will be just $10 for adults and $7 for youth every day from October 23 through November 20. (Ages two and under are always admitted for free.) Adult GA usually starts at around $20. Note that unlimited Planetarium and daytime laser shows are included in GA, although free timed tickets are required.
Membership perks
To make up for the closure, Pacific Science Center is extending memberships. If you have an active membership that expires on or after October 30 it will be extended by three months. Plus, there will be a members-only preview the day before PacSci reopens to the public on Wednesday, October 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. You’ll get to be the first to experience the new spider exhibition, as well as “small treats and glowing surprises.” Science-themed attire or costumes encouraged! If you’re a member you can RSVP here.
The newly-opened PacSci courtyard
Finally, Pacific Science Center will be opening their iconic courtyard to the public when they reopen on October 23. In the past, the only way to experience the beautiful courtyard on the science center’s campus was to purchase an admission ticket. Now, by moving the ticketed entry area indoors and away from the courtyard, Pacific Science Center is allowing the public to explore and relax in one of Seattle’s most beautiful locations for free.
