Good news for Seattleites with a sweet tooth: A new Milk Bar location is opening in the Seattle area in spring 2023!
Update: the Seattle-area Milk Bar opened on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
Chances are you’ve at least heard of the New York bakery Milk Bar, even if it its inventive desserts were geographically out of reach for you. Now, Seattleites will be able to enjoy these sweet treats in their own backyard. After a delayed opening, the new Milk Bar location will be opening in Nordstrom Bellevue this spring.

Milk Bar was created in 2008 by Christina Tosi in Manhattan. It has since expanded from its first East Village location to LA, Boston, Las Vegas, Washington D.C. and Toronto. The Nordstrom Bellevue bakery will be the first Milk Bar location in Washington state.
Milk Bar is known for combining childhood nostalgia and playful creativity to create cakes, pies, cookies, and other sugary treats that make you feel like a kid again. Some of the famous Milk Bar treats that Seattleites can look forward to this fall are Cereal Milk soft serve, the gooey Milk Bar Pie with its oat-cookie crust, and of course their best-selling Birthday Cake topped with crunchy crumbs and rainbow sprinkles. They offer some gluten-free desserts as well!
Excited? Us too. According to the Downtown Bellevue Network, the new Milk Bar was originally slated to open sometime in the fall of 2022. Now, however, the opening date has been pushed to the spring of 2023.
It will be a permanent location and you’ll be able to find it on the second level of Nordstrom in Bellevue Square. We think it will be well-worth the wait—and the 20-minute drive from Seattle—to get a Cornflake Chocolate Chip Marshmallow Cookie.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated with the exact opening date!
