In the era of social distancing, there’s few things more comforting than the nostalgia of a drive-in movie. Luckily, you can find drive-in movies in Seattle twice a week all summer long.
You can enjoy a drive-in movie at Marymoor Park every Wednesday and Thursday evening from now until the end of July. Usually the movie starts around 9PM, although you’ll want to get there early to snag a good spot.
Movies at Marymoor Park is a rain-or-shine drive-in move night that runs twice a week from April to the end of July. Marymoor Park is King County’s largest, oldest, and most popular park. It’s only a 20-minute drive from Seattle, making it a great place to enjoy movies, concerts, and summer fun.
Movies at Marymoor is dog-friendly and kid-friendly, so pack up the whole family in the car. You’re welcome to bring outside food and beverages (excepting alcohol) but there will be food trucks available every night. You can find the food trucks planned for each night here. You’ll also be able to purchase sweet treats such as cupcakes and ice cream.
The ticket admission is $30 per carload. In an effort to provide the best viewing for all guests, the next guidelines will be used:
- Section 1 (front): Small vehicles under 5-feet tall
- Section 2: Mid-sized vehicles between 5-feet to 6-feet tall
- Section 3: Large vehicles over 6-feet tall
- Section 4 (back) Open Hatch: All vehicles that would prefer to back into their parking space and watch the movie with their hatch open will be parked in the back in section 4.
Some of the movies being shown this June include Back to the Future, Napoleon Dynamite, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Mean Girls.
In July, you’ll be able to catch classics such as Top Gun, Aladdin, and The Sandlot in addition to newer flicks such as 50 First Dates and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Keep in mind that parking opens 90 minutes before the scheduled movie time. Be sure to check the movie start time before you go as it can vary. You must arrive in a car (no walk-ups) but you’re welcome to sit in your car or set up a chair or picnic blanket for the movie.
