It didn’t take long for Louie’s Deli to make a name for itself in Seattle. Since opening its doors inside Pioneer Square’s Europa Gallery, Seattle’s most popular new sandwich shop has been selling out daily, drawing lunchtime crowds eager to get their hands on one of its classic sandwiches. The Seattle Times recently called Louie’s Deli home to “Seattle’s best new sandwiches.”
The menu is intentionally short, focusing on familiar favorites done well. Customers can choose from options like an Italian hoagie and a meatball sub, along with a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich (BEC)—a breakfast staple that’s surprisingly hard to find in Seattle. While the offerings may remind some diners of an East Coast deli, Louie’s has been quick to set expectations, describing its offerings as “definitely not a NY deli sandwich and just a sandwich.”
Louie’s Deli is the latest venture from the team behind Good Shape Pizza in Belltown. Before opening a permanent storefront, the deli debuted as a pop-up during Pioneer Square’s monthly Art Walk. It moved into its current space inside Europa Gallery for a soft opening in early May, and demand has been steady ever since. The shop recently shortened its hours from 4 p.m. to 2 p.m. because it was consistently selling out before the end of the day.
The deli is now open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., though sandwiches often don’t last that long. If you’re hoping to avoid missing out, arriving before noon is your best bet. According to the team, their goal is to eventually produce enough sandwiches to keep serving customers through closing.

You may also want to stop by during Europa Gallery’s World Cup watch parties. After the day’s sandwiches are gone on match days, Louie’s typically shifts to serving pizza until that sells out as well. (The Friday, June 26 match is the exception, when the kitchen will switch to turning out smash burgers instead.)
