You’ve probably noticed the many Little Free Libraries scattered around Seattle. There’s also Little Free Pantries and even a Free Little Art Gallery in the city. But did you know the trend has extended to baked goods? There are at least seven Free Little Bakeries in Seattle that get filled with free treats on a regular basis.
Some of the Little Free Bakeries get stocked weekly at a regular time and day. Others have varying days and times, and may be less consistent. All of the bakers who maintain the Little Free Bakeries in Seattle do this in their spare time in addition to their regular jobs and responsibilities. Many of them welcome guest bakers to help stock their bakery.
If you seek out any of these Little Free Bakeries, the most important thing to remember is to be respectful. The goal of the “Little Free” movement is to share resources and build community. So stop by the Little Free Bakery in your neighborhood, take a free treat, and leave it just as you found it.
