Is this the best pizza in Seattle? A.K. Pizza, which opened in October in South Seattle’s Othello neighborhood, has quickly become one of the city’s most in-demand pizza spots. The demand has been so intense that the shop now offers its pizzas exclusively through online pre-orders, turning every pickup day into a small race against the clock.
The menu at A.K. Pizza is intentionally small but impressive. Customers can order classic plain and pepperoni pies, alongside a rotating monthly special that keeps things fresh. January’s special is a potato pie, a comforting option that highlights the shop’s thoughtful approach to toppings. Diners can also customize their pizzas with add-ons like hot honey, burrata, or Italian sausage, but the real star of the show is the dough.
A.K. Pizza’s crust strikes an ideal balance: lightly charred on the outside, with soft, fluffy dough just underneath. It’s the kind of texture that pizza lovers obsess over, and it’s a big reason the shop has developed such a devoted following in just a few months. Beyond pizza, there’s only one other item on the menu—but it’s essential. The soft-baked cookie is massive, craggy with chocolate chunks, and often just as sought after as the pies themselves.
A.K. Pizza is open Thursday through Sunday at 6901 Martin Luther King Jr Way S (Ste A), but walk-ins aren’t an option. Pre-orders open online at noon the day before pickup, and spots typically sell out within about 30 minutes. Orders are limited to two pizzas per customer, and only whole pies are available—no slices or half pies. Larger orders can be requested via email (hello@ak-pizza.com) with at least 72 hours’ notice. Cookies, meanwhile, are sold in-store only and in very limited quantities.
Landing an order may feel like a game of chance, but for many Seattle pizza enthusiasts, A.K. Pizza is well worth the effort.
