We were impressed by many of the set recreations that looked identical to the movies. We started our day at Harry Potter: Magic at Play in Bellevue on Privet Drive, at the Dursley residence, to be exact, just as Harry Potter did in the films!
After snapping a few pictures in front of the iconic home, which resembled the ordinary brick suburban residence in the made-up town of Little Whinging, Surrey, England, we just had to step inside.
Once we stepped inside the home, we were transported to a world beyond our imagination! The Dursley residence had been completely transformed into a magical space. Just like in the films, the letters cascading from the fireplace was a sight to behold. But the real thrill was the interactive elements! Guests can climb inside, journey through a tunnel to the ceiling, and then slide down (yes, even the adults), ensuring fun for all!
This magical adventure for wizards, witches, and even muggles (gasp!) is a must! See it before it leaves this May—Get your tickets here!
After leaving the Dursleys, we knew we were in for a treat! We ventured to King’s Cross St. Pancras Station and the iconic Platform 9 ¾™.
Next, we went to the boats to Hogwarts that were just like the ones the first-year students took—another great spot to take photos with the entire family.
We spent some time posing for photos with the push carts and luggage, which reminded us of when we did just that in London. It is the ultimate photo opportunity. Right after, you’ll run into the iconic Hogwarts Express, which looks so realistic, even with steam coming out of it! Next, we went to the boats to Hogwarts that were just like the ones the first-year students took—another great spot to take photos with the entire family.
Once you arrive at Hogwarts™, one of the most enchanting moments awaits you: stepping into the Great Hall. This grand and awe-inspiring space, known as the heart of Hogwarts’ communal life, never fails to captivate. Imagine being greeted by soaring ceilings adorned with hundreds of floating candles, casting a magical, flickering light. We loved taking a photo in front of the High Table, where all of the faculty of Hogwarts sat during the films.
After we spent time in the Great Hall, we had to peruse all of the portraits just like you could marvel at the enchanted paintings in the whimsical world of Harry Potter. While these portraits don’t come to life, we still enjoyed looking at each and every one.
Enter the enchanting world of Harry Potter and surround yourself in the magic of Hogwarts™ at Harry Potter: Magic at Play near Seattle!
If you’ve ever dreamed of attending potions classes, visiting this magical Harry Potter experience in Bellevue is a must. Here, we learned how to concoct Felix Felicis, the famous “liquid luck” potion, as well as the Polyjuice Potion, which temporarily transforms Muggles (non-magical humans) into someone else. However, our favorite part of the experience was mastering the Wingardium Leviosa levitation spell. So, be sure to practice your swish and flick before heading to Harry Potter: Magic at Play.
Once your potion classes are over, get ready to test your Quidditch™ skills by discovering your ideal position, just like we did. Plus, plenty of other games are available onsite for your entire family to enjoy!
Don’t leave this Harry Potter experience without trying their bottled Butterbeer™ and checking out the shop for exclusive merch—you don’t even need a ticket to do this, so be sure not to miss their exclusive magic items, including t-shirts, capes, broomsticks, and more!
