We have a limited amount of excellent rooftop bars in Seattle, so to lose access to one of them is always painful. The popular Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails rooftop bar was closed throughout summer 2025 for a “glow-up,” as they phrased it on Instagram. The good news is that they’ve announced a reopening date in late September, so you’ll soon be able to visit to see the rooftop’s new look, try the new seafood-focused menu, and take in the city views.
Read on for all the details!
Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails is a rooftop bar and restaurant perched atop Hilton Motif Seattle. Located on 5th Avenue in Downtown Seattle, Frolik has always boasted impressive views of the city’s skyline—and that won’t be changing. However, the rest of the rooftop bar—from the decor to the food—underwent a significant “reimagining” while it was closed this summer.
Frolik will reopen on Monday, September 29 with a brand-new look and menu. The new-and-improved Frolik will “blend elevated dining with laid-back charm.” The 4,000 square-foot rooftop offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with 132 open-air seats and 87 seats inside. Its new look will have a modern design softened by earthy, coastal touches such as rattan-style textures and greenery throughout.
In addition to the new look, Frolik will have a new chef and a new menu inspired by the Pacific Northwest coast. Frolik’s newly appointed Executive Chef Angel Huapaya brings a soulful and global approach to the new menu, thanks to his Peruvian and Honduran roots. The lunch and dinner menus will have an emphasis on fresh seafood in order to “honor the richness of Pacific Northwest ingredients,” per Chef Huapaya.
Here are a few of the dishes you’ll be able to order:
- Seafood Tower with shrimp, crab, oysters, and scallops.
- Salmon Chowder with sofrito, celery, onion and peppers, garnished with salmon roe and crispy leeks.
- Steamed Mussels and Clams in a housemade tomato garlic broth finished with basil chili butter.
- Buttered Lobster Roll paired with dill, lemon, and Green Goddess.
- Roasted Beet Salad with local Rainier cherries and roasted coconut cream.
As for the drinks menu, you’ll find local draft beer and craft cocktails like The Evergreen Mule (a Seattle-inspired take on the classic Moscow Mule) and The Clarified Pear (which combines flavors of pear, ginger, lemon, and Earl Grey tea).
Frolik will be open seven days a week year-round. Starting on September 29, the weekday hours (Monday through Friday) will be between 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The weekend hours (Saturday through Sunday) will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
