Election Day 2024 is finally here! Seattleites have until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5 to drop their ballot in a drop box. If you’re feeling anxious about the results then you may not want to stay home alone watching the news. In that event, we created this helpful guide to election watch parties in Seattle and other election day events happening in Seattle this Tuesday evening.
Every single event on this list can be attended for free (although of course there is the option to pay for food, drinks, or donations). There’s also a range of events to suit your mood, whether you’re looking for something with a fun party atmosphere or something more subdued.
Here are nine election events and watch parties in Seattle on the evening of Tuesday, November 5:
1. Election night comedy
In need of a laugh? The Gayly Show is a variety comedy show in Seattle that will be hosting a special Election Night celebration at The Rendezvous bar. Tickets here.
When: 7:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Where: The Rendezvous Seattle (2322 2nd Avenue Seattle)

2. Reading Through It
If you don’t want to spend your evening watching the news, Town Hall is offering a “literary alternative to election night coverage.” Six writers will be doing readings, and there will also be local organizations and representatives there to share information about ways to get involved. Tickets are offered on a sliding scale from zero to $35. Get tickets here.

3. Election night with local journalists
A second event taking place at Town Hall Seattle on election night is this “behind-the-scenes look at independent election coverage” with local journalists from South Seattle Emerald, The Needling, The Urbanist, and others. There will be panels and Q&A sessions. This is a free event but you should get tickets in advance here.
When: 6:00 p.m.
Where: Town Hall’s Wyncote NW Forum (1119 Eighth Ave; entrance off Seneca St.)

4. Election Night Reading Party
How does “some cozy, low-key reading and connection time” on election night sound? If that sounds like what you need, then head to Ada’s for this free community gathering. There will be pastries as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase as you read and discuss books with other Seattleites. RSVP here. What election?

5. Watch Party at Life On Mars
Life On Mars in Capitol Hill is a cozy, welcoming bar that is well-stocked with vinyl for your listening pleasure. On Tuesday night they will be open late for a watch party. They have a great vegan food menu in addition to strong cocktails (and NA drinks as well).
When: 4:00 p.m. until late

6. Community Watch Party at SIFF Egyptian Theater
Want to watch live coverage of the election results but don’t want to do it in a loud bar? This could be a good alternative for you. The Capitol Hill Community Council has partnered with SIFF to host a watch party at the Egyptian theater in Capitol Hill. This is a free event but you must get your ticket in advance here.
When: 7:00 p.m.
Where: SIFF Egyptian (805 E Pine St)
7. Election Night Party at Stoup Brewing
Stoup Brewing’s Capitol Hill location will be staying open late on Tuesday night for an election watch party. This is a free event but you should reserve your spot here.
When: 4:oo to 11:00 p.m.
Where: Stoup Brewing in Capitol Hill

8. Amongst Friends at Queer Bar
Queer Bar in Capitol Hill is typically closed on Tuesdays but this week they’re opening their doors at 5:00 p.m. for an election night watch party. You can enjoy Mt. Joy chicken sandwiches and two-for-one cocktails while you watch live coverage on their TVs.
When: 5:00 p.m.

9. Watch Party with Washington Democrats
You can join the Washington Democrats for this free election night party at Seattle Convention Center on Tuesday night. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and you should be prepared to show ID. We weren’t able to find a similar event happening with the Washington State Republican Party but you can check out wagop.gov for information.
When: 5:00 p.m.
