Don’t miss the Alki Winter Beer and Food Truck Festival this February.
Ready to drink beer and eat some yummy food for a good cause? This year’s Alki Winter Beer and Food Truck Festival is taking place on Alki Beach in West Seattle on February 24. All of the proceeds will go towards Special Olympics Washington—and you don’t even have to partake in the polar plunge if you don’t want to!
Read on for all the details!
Overview
The Mobile Food Rodeo and the Special Olympics Washington put on this annual event to raise awareness and money for the Special Olympics. Your ticket gets you access to a beer garden of local breweries plus a fleet of 10 food trucks. Although the beer garden is for ages 21 and up only, the rest of the festival (including the food trucks and live entertainment) is family-friendly and open to all ages.
The polar plunge
Another component of the festival is the polar plunge at 1:00 p.m. This is a fundraiser, with all the proceeds going towards the Special Olympics Washington. You have to register for the polar plunge in advance and pledge to raise $75 before the event.
If you don’t want to plunge into the icy cold water at Alki Beach yourself, you can still cheer on the brave participants from the sidelines!
Ticket details
General admission tickets are $20 plus fees and includes four drink tokens. If you prefer, you can purchase a $35 “tasting experience” ticket instead and enjoy 10 free tastings and a commemorative drinking cup.
If you’d like to participate in the polar plunge fundraiser, you have to register for that separately.
