Ever wish that you could fly nonstop from Seattle to Tokyo or Seoul? Your wish is about to be granted. Alaska Airlines will be offering daily nonstop flights from Seattle to Tokyo and Seoul in 2025. The news comes on the heels of their recent acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines.
Read on for all the details.
In the press release, Alaska Air Group said that they “plan to serve at least 12 nonstop global destinations with long-haul widebody aircraft from our Seattle gateway by 2030, with further specifics on where and when to be revealed later.” This number includes the new Tokyo and Seoul destinations.
When will the flights to Tokyo start?
Alaska Airlines’ daily nonstop flights between the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport will begin on May 12, 2025.
When will the flights to Seoul start?
Coming just a few months later, Alaska’s daily nonstop flights between Seattle and Seoul’s Incheon International Airport in South Korea will start in October 2025.
What kind of plane will be servicing the routes?
Hawaiian’s Airbus A330-200s will be making these trips, thanks to Alaska’s acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines that just closed in September 2024. “Hawaiian’s spacious widebody aircraft, along with its excellent onboard service and amenities, will make for a terrific trip from one side of the Pacific Rim to the other,” Alaska Air Group CEO Ben Minicucci said.
When will tickets be available?
Tickets for the new Tokyo flights are on sale now as of Tuesday, December 11. Tickets for the Seoul route will go on sale in early 2025. You can purchase your tickets from either Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines.
The two airlines will also be expanding their domestic route schedules this spring, including more choices for those flying to and from Hawaiʻi. Read more about all these changes on the Alaska Air website.
