The Alabaster Owl in Seattle is a magical new store for witches and wizards.
Who needs Diagon Alley when you have Seattle’s Post Alley? If you go off the beaten cobblestone path of Pike Place Market and duck into a tiny alleyway between Pike Place and Post Alley, you’ll find a small Harry Potter-inspired store called The Alabaster Owl. Self-dubbed “the shop under the stairs,” the store is easy to find if you know where to look.
Owner Sarah Taylor has filled the 300-square-foot shop with, in her own words, “castle-worthy antiques, mantiques, magical items for your wizard-lifestyle, beautiful barware and more.” Even though the shop clearly takes some cues from the Harry Potter world, it’s so much more than that. You’ll find everything from witchy books and tarot to vintage chandeliers and cocktail ingredients packaged in potion bottles. If you’ve been thinking that your home needs more of a witchy vibe this fall, this store is here to help.
The Alabaster Owl has actually been open since December, but this is the shop’s first time being open for the Halloween season. We can’t think of a better time to pay a visit.
Read more about the store on the Pike Place Market website, or follow the shop’s Instagram to stay updated.
