Seattle’s weirdest, loudest, most punk flea market is turning 20 this month. The Punk Rock Flea Market is celebrating with three days of shopping for art, music, vintage finds, and plenty of unexpected treasures.
The Punk Rock Flea Market returns September 25–27 at the Quality Flea Center, 416 15th Ave. E. in Capitol Hill. Admission is just $1, a tradition that’s been going strong since 2006. The event is also all ages. It all started in a Belltown basement back in September 2006 and not only is it still going strong 20 years later, but it’s bigger and better than ever.
Since 2024, the market has been based out of the Quality Flea Center: a former QFC grocery store in Capitol Hill. The space fills up with hundreds of vendors offering an enormous mix of goods, from arts and crafts to comic books, music, vintage clothing, jewelry, stereo equipment and bike parts. You might also stumble across painted rocks, graffiti supplies, droids, snake oil and all kinds of punk-rock paraphernalia. Basically, expect the unexpected.
And despite the name, you don’t have to be punk rock to attend. According to the event website, the “punk rock” part is more about the DIY spirit than a particular music scene or lifestyle. PRFM brings together a varied mix of artists and activists from all backgrounds, and in their own words: “We don’t have a lot of rules and we like it that way. If you want to come play, then you are punk enough for us.”
