For one last time, Wild Waves Theme & Water Park will turn Federal Way into a Halloween playground. The park’s last-ever Fright Fest runs 15 nights from October 2 through November 1, Fridays through Sundays, as Wild Waves prepares to close permanently at the end of its 2026 season. With Halloween landing on a Saturday, the event includes Halloween night plus one final day on November 1.
Fright Fest 2026: What to expect
Fright Fest opens at 6 p.m., with the kid-friendly Booville running earlier from noon to 6. Haunted houses, scare zones and most rides are included with admission; the Soaring Eagle costs extra, and Summer Fun Passes aren’t valid. Season pass holders from 2025 and 2026 receive free admission.
This year’s Fright Fest adds Black Hallow Woods, a new haunted house featuring hollowed creatures and a Wendigo. It joins Chamber of Souls, a cursed estate filled with spirits. Two PG-13 scare zones—Haunted Harvest and Trail of Terrors—open at 7:30 p.m.
Night rides begin at 6 p.m., with live DJs on Fridays through Sundays. A 21-and-over Vampire Bar will serve themed drinks and treats, while Halloween favorites such as candied apples, fudge and elephant ears will be available throughout the park. A VIP pass covering both haunted houses and several rides is also planned.
Booville: Fright-free fun for kids
Families with younger children can visit Booville on Saturdays and Sundays from September 26 through November 1. The scare-free Kiddie Land area includes trick-or-treating, a hay maze, face painting, costume contests, a bubble show and a magician. Booville opens at noon and closes at 6 p.m. before Fright Fest begins.
The Wild Waves closure
Wild Waves opened in 1977 and spans 70 acres about 25 minutes south of downtown Seattle. Owner Premier Parks announced the permanent closure in December 2025, citing millions of dollars in losses since the pandemic reopening. Earlier this year in May, news outlets reported that a proposal was submitted to use the theme park site for a 1 million-square-foot industrial warehouse facility.
The park is honoring previously purchased 2026 passes, ticket packages and group events. The final day of operations at Wild Waves will be November 1, 2026.
