Looking for the very best hotels in Seattle? The MICHELIN Guide just released their 2025 list of hotels in the United States deserving of the MICHELIN Key—and five Seattle-area hotels were honored! “Like the MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys distinguish the most outstanding hotels in our selection,” the announcement explained. Two of the Seattle hotels are new Keys, having just opened in Seattle in 2025.

Populus Hotel

Populus Seattle just opened in 2025, and it has already won the distinction of being named a new MICHELIN Key Hotel. This boutique hotel focuses on natural materials and locally sourced ingredients. It has a cafe, the in-house restaurant Salt Harvest, and rooftop bar Firn—the first rooftop bar in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square neighborhood. The location is walking distance from Seattle’s sports stadiums, waterfront, and downtown. Your pets can stay here too (two pets max; subject to a fee).
1 Hotel Seattle

1 Hotel Seattle is the other new Key Hotel on the MICHELIN Guide’s 2025 list. Describing itself as a mission-driven luxury hotel that focuses on sustainability, 1 Hotel Seattle is located centrally in the South Lake Union neighborhood. This pet-friendly hotel has a gym, offers a complimentary bike rental, and even includes a yoga mat in each room. You can eat at their Spanish restaurant La Loba, which is led by James Beard-Nominated Chef Oscar Amador Edo, or get coffee, lunch, and cocktails at the Drift bar and lounge.
The Lodge at St. Edward Park

Looking for more of a nature retreat rather than an urban adventure? The Lodge at St. Edward Park is just outside of Seattle (Kenmore is about a 30-minute drive north of Seattle). This boutique hotel offers a relaxing retreat away from the city within a 326-acre forest. A 20-minute walk from the hotel will have you standing on the shore of Lake Washington. You can eat and drink at the hotel restaurant Cedar + Elm as well as at the two bars. Other things to do at The Lodge include afternoon tea, nature hikes, pickleball, yoga, a historical tour, a spa, and complimentary mountain bike rentals.
