
It’s the 35th anniversary of the James Beard Awards, and this year several chefs and restaurants in Seattle have been honored as semifinalists.
The list below highlights the 13 Seattle-based semifinalists. Nominees will be announced on Wednesday, April 2. The ultimate winners will be announced on Monday, June 16 at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony in Chicago.
The semifinalists are divided across 25 categories, which includes three new categories that were just added this year.

Here are the 2025 James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards semifinalists representing Seattle:
Outstanding Restaurateur:

The James Beard Awards have expanded this year with a focus on beverages. Below you’ll see the Seattle semifinalists that made it into the three new categories: Best New Bar, Outstanding Professional in Beverage Service, and Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service.
