People in Seattle who want to switch up their usual workout routine may want to try something a little more artistic. This month, Chihuly Garden and Glass at Seattle Center is hosting a special Yoga and Sound Bath experience inside its spectacular Glasshouse—bringing together art, gentle movement, and relaxation in a truly memorable setting.
Beginning in January, the museum launched a monthly yoga series that allows participants to practice among the vibrant glass sculptures created by celebrated artist Dale Chihuly. The last class of the season will take place on Wednesday, March 25, and a limited number of spots are still available for anyone interested in trying a unique midweek fitness activity.
The evening starts with roughly an hour for guests to wander through the exhibition galleries at their own pace (exhibition admission is included!), offering time to admire Chihuly’s intricate installations and colorful glass artwork. After exploring, participants will gather in the Glasshouse for a 45-minute yoga and sound bath session guided by instructors from CorePower Yoga. Practicing beneath the Glasshouse’s towering glass sculpture and natural light creates a peaceful, inspiring atmosphere that feels far removed from a typical studio or gym.
The session welcomes all experience levels, from longtime yoga practitioners to complete beginners. Guests are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, water bottle, hand towel, and extra layers since the Glasshouse tends to be cooler than most yoga studios. A small number of mats will be available onsite on a first-come, first-served basis.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m., giving attendees time to explore the exhibits before the class begins at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to guests ages 12 and older, and tickets must be purchased online ahead of time because space is limited. Full details and ticket information can be found on the Chihuly website.
For anyone hoping to pair wellness with world-class art, this event offers one of the most distinctive workout experiences in Seattle.
