Calling all Seattle witches! Your presence is requested for afternoon tea at one of Seattle’s most haunted locations. The historic Hotel Sorrento is hosting an all-ages Witches’ Tea throughout October, and reservations are available now.
Read on for all the details!
Witches’ Tea is a seasonal event taking place every weekend this October. The calendar currently shows openings for every Sunday in October and the last two Saturdays. There is also one taking place on Friday, October 31—Halloween! It is a two-hour affair, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Witches’ Tea at Hotel Sorrento costs $55 per person. This includes tea service and a selection of sweet and savory treats. All ages are welcome, but only witches age 21 and up will also have the option to partake in “magical elixirs.”
Afternoon tea often has an elevated dress code. In this case, costumes are encouraged! Hotel Sorrento asks guests to “don your most bewitching attire.” If you have a witch’s hat, this is the occasion for it.
Hotel Sorrento opened in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood in 1909. In 2015 it was named one of the most haunted hotels in the world by USA Today. The hotel’s most famous ghost is Alice B. Toklas, who is credited with the invention of cannabis brownies.
Reservations are required for this event. To make a reservation for Witches’ Tea and find more information, you can visit the Hotel Sorrento website.
This afternoon tea at Hotel Sorrento is seasonal, sadly, so once October ends you’ll have to go elsewhere for your finger foods fix. Luckily we have a guide to the best afternoon tea in Seattle. It includes a festive holiday tea at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel that starts in December, so be sure to put that on your calendar now!
